How to Search, Filter, and View Training Session Plans
Learn how to browse, search, and filter existing training session plans in the Session Library and view their full details.
Intro
As a coach or club manager, you often need to quickly find a specific training session plan - whether it is for tomorrow’s practice, a recurring weekly session, or a drill‑heavy workout. The Session Library gives you a central place to browse all your club’s session plans, narrow down the list with search and filters, and open any session to review its complete details. This guide walks you through the process from start to finish.
Prerequisites
- A BallersBook account with access to the Session Library (all authenticated users except
ai-reviewerandai-admin-reviewer) - At least one session plan already created in your club (if not, see “How to Create a Session Plan”)
- A web browser or the BallersBook mobile app
Step‑by‑Step
-
Log in to your BallersBook account and open the main navigation. Click Sessions. The Session Library page loads, showing all session plans for your club in a grid layout.
-
(Optional) Use the Search bar at the top of the page. Type a session name or any keyword (e.g. “passing” or “U12”). The list updates in real time as you type.
⚠️ Warning: The search bar only looks through session names and associated tags. It does not search inside drill descriptions or coaching points.
- (Optional) Apply filters to narrow the results further.
-
Browse the displayed sessions. To switch between a grid of cards and a compact table list, click the List View / Card View toggle button located near the search bar. The toggle is available only if your club has more than a few sessions.
-
Click any session card (or row in list view) to open its Session Details page. Here you can see the session name, date, assigned group or team, duration, and all included drills with their order and timing.
-
(Optional) From the details page, you can:
- Edit the session by clicking the Edit button (requires
manage_sessionspermission) - Duplicate the session to use as a template for another date
- Export the session as a PDF using the Export button
- Share a public link by copying the URL from the address bar (the link works even for users without an account)
Tips & Pitfalls
- If you don’t see any sessions, check that you are logged into the correct club. Use the Club Switcher in the top‑right corner to change clubs if needed.
- Filters and search are saved per session - they reset when you navigate away from the Session Library page.
- For large clubs with many sessions, use the Pagination controls at the bottom of the page. You can adjust the number of sessions shown per page in your Profile Settings.
- The Session Library is read‑only for users with the
parentrole. To view sessions assigned to a specific player, use the My Attendance page instead.
Summary
You can now quickly locate any training session plan in the Session Library by using the search bar and available filters, then open it to review the full structure.
